A whiny ginger saves the day? Come on, there's suspending belief and then there's the plain old impossible! (I kid gingers, I kid!)
Revolt of the Dwarves was not one of the more popular Estes' titles for the Endless Quest series, but there's something very relatable to the down-to-earth boy protagonist. He's just a regular old human kid, shitting his pants with fear, but doing his best in a strange and dangerous world. Plus there's plenty of unusual D&D elements, especially in the forest scenes with its uncommon monsters and situations to overcome. Worth a read. Probably good for boys about 9 to 12. There are some sympathetic female characters within, however like most of the books in this series,
Revolt of the Dwarves had boys in mind when it was written.
