Dungeons and Dragons: Expert Set
While the Basic Set was my first and it de-flowered my D&D virginity, the Expert Set mastered me until soon enough I'd become D&D's bitch. Right from the start, with that oh-so clever cover of the wizard conjuring the image of the Basic Set cover, I knew I was beholden of a greater power than I'd ever discovered (...in the gaming realm that is. Discovering masturbation was WAY MORE powerful!) Whereas the first set dealt with the novice - 1st through 3rd levels (characters started at 1st and advanced higher as they successfully adventured) - this second set took it well beyond that, all the way up to 14th level even! Mercy me, what heady heights! The quantity and power of spells and magic items rose, new monsters were introduced, and the idea of wilderness adventuring was expounded upon. Everything was getting bigger, better and more bad-assed! And just in time too, as the Basic Set no longer satisfied. I needed something more experienced. RRRrrr!!!
